I started The Honest Kitchen in my own kitchen, back in 2002. Back then, it was just me and my beloved dog Mosi, mixing up and taste-testing recipes together!

I was trying to address his ear infections and skin problems, and knew that his diet played a role. There was nothing on the market that offered a healthy, whole-food solution that was also easy to prepare and store - so I decided to make it myself, using human-grade, dehydrated ingredients! When I saw the results in Mosi, I realized that other pets could benefit too - and that’s when it all started evolving into a company!

Halcyon dog food is the newest complete, whole grain diet that includes cage-free duck. It is AAFCO complete and balanced for adult maintenance, made with dehydrated cage-free duck, rolled oats, vegetables, and fruits. Because duck is a novel protein, it's great for pups who have problems digesting to common proteins like chicken or beef. Halcyon also features unique ancient grains, like buckwheat & chia, that provide a clean source of nutrition including protein and essential fatty acids for your favorite four-legged member of the family.
