Top Hot - Why Exercise Makes You Happy
We’ve all heard
it before: exercising makes you a happier person. But did you know, as little
as 20 minutes of physical activity can boost your mood for up to 12 hours?
Or better yet, working out for 30-60 minutes just a few times a week can
provide mental health benefits.
When you’re
feeling down or having a really bad day, try doing something physically active
to get your mind off of it. Working out when you’re in a bad mood has a more
powerful effect on your mental state. Adding music to your routine also
helps to improve your mood.
Why are you still
sitting at the computer?
Get out and do
something! Exercising outdoors is more beneficial than exercising indoors, and
is a great way to get in touch with nature. But maybe being outdoors isn’t your
thing. Instead, try watching something when you’re running on
the treadmill; your favorite TV show can make working out more enjoyable.
Do you really
need anymore motivation to work out?
Just
remember what Elle Woods once said: “Exercise
gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy. Happy people don’t shoot their
husbands. They just don’t.”
